As a victim of crime, you have the right to be consulted about certain things and participate in parts of the criminal justice process.

A word from the Commissioner

You are entitled to be heard and to tell your story.

Your input helps the police and courts make decisions about the offender. They will take your experience into account.

As a victim, you can have your say and participate in a few different ways including:

• a Victim Impact Statement
• submissions to the Parole Board.

Make sure you tell the police and the prosecutor if you have concerns about your safety.
