The booklet - Information for people affected by homicide (PDF, 2.7 MB) - is for those who have experienced the unthinkable and lost a loved one to homicide.

Homicide is a crime that has a sudden, shocking and devastating impact on the victim's family and friends. It is a traumatic and complicated life experience that nobody can prepare for.

This booklet has information around:

• what to expect immediately afterwards
• how to deal with intense grief and trauma
• unsolved homicides
• the complexities of the justice and court process
• after court
• where to get support.

Over the past 12 months we've worked closely with the Homicide Victim Support Group in South Australia to collaborate on this revised version.

This booklet also includes input from SAPOL, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and a number of other agencies who support victims through this process.
