VSS are looking for volunteers - can you help?

Going to court as a victim can be a scary and overwhelming experience - everyone is different and some people need more help than others.

Our office is working closely with the Victim Support Service (VSS) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to provide a more comprehensive court support program to South Australian victims of crime.

VSS is currently looking for more volunteers to help victims and witnesses who are giving evidence in court.

Volunteers must have:

  • great interpersonal skills
  • the ability to remain calm and positive under pressure
  • the ability to be flexible and reliable
  • experience working with people with complex needs - or a willingness to learn these skills.

You will receive training, reimbursements and plenty of support throughout - no prior experience with the courts is necessary.

You can help make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and adults who have been victims and witnesses of crime.

See the VSS website for more information, and to apply.
